Song of Salvation

This week’s prayer is actually a song of praise. I don’t think we realize that our worship is also a form of prayer to God; we are indeed proclaiming to Him that we remember His promises, His deeds; we are telling Him of our repentance, our love, and our commitment. The following Song of Praise which is themed “salvation,” is found in the book of Isaiah whose name means “Jehovah  is salvation.”

Isaiah 12

In that day you will say: "I will praise You, O LORD. Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away and You have comforted me. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation." With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. In that day you will say: "Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the LORD, for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."

The encouragement we receive and proclaim back to God from this song is that no matter how terrible or difficult the days may be or no matter what our failures may have been, salvation in Jesus is possible and we can hope in the Holy One of Israel who is NOW among us, in us, working through us.

Dear God, our Savior through Jesus, we sing this song of praise to You, remembering where we came from and the hope we have found in Your salvation. Thank You for meeting us where we are and for giving us hope, strength, deliverance; thank You for the fresh water we drink from the eternal well of salvation. We are reminded that if we call on You for help, You will save us. We pray that the children of Kids Quest will know this promise in their hearts; Lord, please never stop wooing each child to Your bosom of love; protect each one from the evil one. Each Sunday, penetrate their hearts with Your promise of salvation and give them the courage to receive it. Give each of us (the leaders) the courage to proclaim Jesus to them. Let each child’s need for You be our ever present burden that is only lifted because each child has accepted You as their Savior. In Jesus name, Amen.
